ClaimCloud was established by Mitch Taylor in 2023 to create a genuine alternative for creditors who were owed money by an insolvent company. We recognise that many creditors will find corporate insolvencies or litigation to be slow-moving, frustrating and oftentimes confusing and intimidating.
In contrast, ClaimCloud strives to be highly approachable by always offering clear communication and forthright explanations to its clients.
Mitch identifies keenly with the creditor perspective. He has over 25 years’ experience as an institutional creditor, over half of which were with the Macquarie Group in Sydney, Los Angeles and New York. During his time with the Group’s distressed credit trading desk, Mitch experienced the realities of being a creditor across multiple insolvencies and made it a goal, starting in 2009, to become highly proficient in Australian insolvency practices and to build relationships in the sector.
A formative experience was Mitch’s involvement in the purchase of creditor claims against MF Global Australia Pty Ltd in 2012*. The process of valuing the claims and offering a solution to creditors whose capital was trapped in the liquidation was impactful. He transacted with numerous creditors that preferred to sell their claim and reinvest their capital, rather than wait an unknown period for an unknown return in the liquidation.
Mitch is passionate about providing an option to creditors. He is pleased to share his informal opinions on any Australian insolvency, and has happily assisted creditors in their dealings with administrators and liquidators.
Mitch has also worked as a consultant to KordaMentha and was a co-founder at Longreach Credit Investors, building the firm from its inception in 2017. He continues to contribute to the management teams and boards of several Australian and US companies.
